Steve Edwards is Director of Client Solutions for Stericycle, where he has developed the execution solutions for some of the largest consumer goods, OTC, pharmaceutical, and medical device recalls globally. Throughout his 10 years in the industry, Steve has led clients through every step of the recall process; from initial recall scope definition to the development of internal protocols and solutions that hedge against recall related risk.
As a thought leader in the recall industry, Steve contributes to numerous leading consumer product, food & beverage, medical device, and pharmaceutical associations and their conferences. He is routinely sought out to lead mock recall simulations for manufacturers looking to galvanize their internal product recall protocols.
Steve has assisted Stericycle clients with the execution of over 1,000 product recall events. Prior to joining Stericycle, Steve worked for Sony as an Outsourcing/Planning Specialist. He is a proud graduate of Purdue University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership.
Chris Harvey is a Recall Strategist for Stericycle, where he works with clients to ensure flawless implementation and customer integration throughout the entire product recall process. Chris assists in the scoping, plan development, and recall execution for a diverse set of industries, including pharmaceutical, medical device, food & beverage, and consumer products.
Throughout his career, he has managed more than 1,000 recalls, including hundreds of high-profile recalls and withdrawals for the nation’s largest pharmaceutical and CPG companies. With his wide range of experience, Chris offers Stericycle clients proven and efficient solutions to challenges arising from every aspect of the recall process; from initial planning and preparation to the full scale execution of a product recall. Additionally, Chris works with numerous law firms and PR firms across all industries to help their clients mitigate recall related risk.
Chris is recognized as an expert in the recall industry and routinely speaks on best practices for recall planning and execution at trade shows, conventions, and conferences. Chris is a proud graduate of Purdue University, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Society.
Dan Hinkebein is a Recall Consultant for Stericycle, where he manages product recalls for manufacturers in the consumer product, medical device, and food & beverage industries. Dan specializes in recalls that span multiple governmental agency jurisdictions in the US and globally.
Throughout his career, Dan has worked with clients who are among the largest and most recognized companies in their industries as well as with small importers and manufacturers.
With over 16 years of experience in the recall industry, Dan is recognized as an expert in his field. He serves as a thought leader on product recalls and has given numerous industry presentations for manufacturers, law firms, and product safety conferences. Dan is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
Ryan Gooley is a Recall Consultant for Stericycle, where he has played a vital role in the execution of nearly 1,000 recalls, withdrawals, and market corrections for some of the highest profile food and beverage, consumer product, and pharmaceutical companies globally. Throughout his 10 years in the recall management industry, Ryan has led clients through every step of the recall process and other crisis related projects.
With many global clients, Ryan’s work has contributed to the successful resolution of hundreds of international product recall efforts over the course of his career.
Prior to joining Stericycle, Ryan held multiple management and operation positions. He received his Master’s of Business Administration at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois where he also obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, with minors in International Studies and Professional Conflict Resolution.
Ryan Howell is a Recall Consultant for Stericycle, where he helps clients manage every step of the product recall process; from the early stages of planning through remedy and resolution. Ryan specializes in recalls within the medical device industry, where he excels at staying on top of all the nuances associated with the logistics and product complexities in the supply chain.
Ryan has consulted and led mock product recalls for prominent companies around the country. In addition to his consulting work, Ryan also analyzes recall data across the medical device, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, auto, and consumer product industries. His recall trend analysis is a vital part of the Stericycle Recall Index, which investigates emerging trends within the recall industry and includes scorecards with key takeaways in each category.
Prior to joining Stericycle, Ryan earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Industrial Technology and Industrial Distribution from Purdue University.
Amanda Combs is a Recall Consultant for Stericycle, where she has helped clients manage more than 500 national and international product recalls. Amanda assists in the scoping, plan development, and recall execution for a diverse set of industries, including pharmaceutical, medical device, food, auto, and consumer product.
In her 10 years with the company, Amanda has worked on all aspects of product recalls and returns, from implementing recall prevention strategies to executing global recalls. Amanda’s proven and efficient recall solution strategies have helped some of the biggest companies in the U.S. prevent, prepare for, and resolve product recalls. Amanda has worked on numerous high profile recalls and assisted manufacturers and retailers in order to streamline their process to make it as efficient and cost effective as possible.
David Schmeltzer is one of the most experienced and respected recall advisors in the United States. He advises companies whose products are regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), where he served in various capacities for more than 20 years. David provides invaluable counsel and guidance to Stericycle clients whose brands may be at risk when managing sensitive, high-stakes recalls.
Much of David’s work involves assisting manufacturers, vendors, and importers who market to the world’s largest retailers. David helps these businesses determine whether a report or recall is necessary and advises on how to deal with the product recall in a cost effective, efficient manner that helps protect their brands.
David joined the CPSC as its Deputy General Counsel when the commission was created. In that position, he was instrumental in most aspects of CPSC’s rulemaking activities. He later became the commission’s Director of Compliance and served in that position for 20 years. As Director of Compliance he supervised the enforcement of all of the Commission’s regulations, monitored investigations of potentially dangerous products, negotiated corrective action plans to determine the adequacy of the plan, and negotiated civil penalties for companies that violated the commission’s laws and regulations.
As a frequent lecturer on recalls and product safety, David has been featured on “Good Morning America” and the “Today Show”. He is a former vice chairman and member of the executive committee of the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO). He also served as co-chair of ICPHSO’s Recall Effectiveness Committee and its International Committee.
A native of New York City, David earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Long Island University and obtained a doctorate from Brooklyn Law School. He is a member of the bar in New York and the District of Columbia.
Willie R. Bryant, Jr., a former Senior Recall Coordinator in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, is a thought-leader in the world of recalls. He helps Stericycle clients navigate the increasingly complex regulatory structure and emerge with successful outcomes during potentially damaging events. During his 41 year tenure at the FDA, Willie served in the Emergency Operations Branch providing guidance, policy, and coordination of all recall functions.
Willie also worked as the coordination point between drug and device firms, the center recall staffs, FDA’s Office of Criminal Investigation, and other district offices involved with the management of recall activities. Additionally, he led the development of the FDA’s cutting-edge technology for recalls, the Recall Enterprise System (RES). The RES creates seamless and immediate information exchange between district recall coordinators, center recall staffs, the Office of Public Affairs, and contractors.
A renowned authority and sought-after speaker on product recalls and government regulation, Willie shares his expertise with business leaders and clients as a distinguished fellow at Stericycle. He graduated from Frederick College in 1963.

He has achieved recognition and success as an operational and financial leader with a diverse background in manufacturing, distribution, retail, customer care, and finance industries, where he managed both high-growth and turnaround situations.

As Senior Vice President of Client Services for Stericycle ExpertSOLUTIONS, Pat Connolly works closely with automotive clients to gain a deep understanding of their business and objectives. With this knowledge, he supports each initiative to ensure all expectations are met, while at the same time looking for additional opportunities for growth and improvement.
Pat has more than 18 years of automotive industry experience. He is highly regarded within the areas of customer satisfaction, customer safety, required vehicle processes and conflict resolution. Pat has served on numerous automotive industry panels, where he discusses specific reacquired vehicle processes, such as various states’ lemon law, title branding and resale disclosure requirements.
Pat is a member of the Society of Consumer Affair Professionals (SOCAP) and of the International Association of Lemon Law Administrators (IALLA).
